About the shop
A small repair counter in Nona Chandanpukur, run by one engineer who would rather explain the fault than rush the job.
We started Barrackpore Mobile Repair because too many people around here were being told the same two things: "board problem, ₹4,000" or "we'll have to format it". Neither is a diagnosis. A phone that hangs is usually software. A phone that dies by noon is usually a battery. A phone that will not charge is usually the port. These are ordinary repairs, and they should come with an ordinary explanation and a price you hear before the phone is opened.
How we price a repair
Labour and parts are kept separate. You hear the labour price first, then the exact part price for your model, then you decide. If you want to see the supplier invoice for a screen or battery, ask — we keep it in the job file. If a repair turns out to be something we cannot fix, you do not pay labour for the attempt.
What we will not do
- No silent formatting. We will not wipe your phone to "fix" a software problem without asking, and we will not touch your photos and chats unnecessarily.
- No part swapping. We will not fit a cheap compatible part and bill you for an original.
- No keeping your old parts. Battery, screen or port — it goes back in your hand at handover.
- No promises without a check. The final price comes after the phone is opened, not before.
Who you will meet
Surya runs the counter and does the repairs. If you message on WhatsApp, you are talking to the same person who will open the phone. That is the whole team, and it is on purpose — it keeps the explanation honest and the queue short.
